ICTP seeks applications for one Postdoctoral position starting Fall 2024 or beginning of 2025 from outstanding young scientists of any nationality with a strong research record.
The candidate should be interested and active in the field of atomistic simulations of materials for sustainable-energy applications, with a strong background in electronic structure methods (DFT, etc.) and related fields, including machine learning.
With about 50 academic members (faculty, visitors, postdocs and graduate students), an intense programme of workshops and conferences, and close collaborations with local scientific institutions such as SISSA, Elettra, and the University of Trieste, the CMSP section provides a vibrant international research environment. Postdoctoral fellows are also encouraged, and supported, to participate in activities in developing countries in order to promote the mission of ICTP.

Fellows must have completed a PhD in physics or related disciplines prior to the start of their Fellowship. Candidates who have obtained their PhD after 2020 will be given priority.
