The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Missouri-Columbia invites applications for an endowed tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning on September 1, 2018.  The position carries a competitive salary and startup funds, as well as contributions from the George H. Vineyard endowment fund. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding potential to become a leader in his/her own field by establishing an original externally funded research program, and to excel as a teacher at the graduate and undergraduate level. While applications from all areas of theoretical physics are welcome, preference will be given to candidates who best fit the existing strengths of the Department, which are in condensed matter physics, biological physics, and astrophysics.
