Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Delaware (https://web.physics.udel.edu/) invites  applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in theoretical/computational condensed matter physics with focus on electronic structure. All areas of modern ab initio and many-body methods applied to realistic materials or molecular systems will be given thorough consideration, including density functional theory; time-dependent density functional theory; many-body perturbation theory and coupled-cluster methods; GW-Bethe-Salpeter equation; dynamical mean field theory; and Quantum Monte Carlo. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or postdoctoral training in condensed matter physics, quantum chemistry, materials science or related discipline, as well as a proven track record in developing new methods and/or their implementation using high performance computing. The applicants are expected to demonstrate the potential for creative and outstanding scholarship and teaching, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.  Review of applications will begin on 1 November 2019 and continue until the position is filled. This theoretical/computational faculty position is one of the positions within a cluster (the other two positions are for experimental faculty in condensed matter physics or materials science). A description of the context for these three searches can be found with the link for submitting applications at: https://careers.udel.edu/cw/en-us/job/494331.
