Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The Barraza-Lopez group at the University of Arkansas is seeking a Postdoctoral Candidate to work on the broad area of layered monochalcogenide compounds in a position funded by an Early Career Grant from the Department of Energy. The successful candidate will perform computational studies of order-disorder transitions in these layered materials at finite temperature, and will link these structural changes to the evolution of material properties. Ideal qualifications include a PhD in Physics, Materials Science or Chemistry, the capability to work on challenging computational problems that may include code development, and the ability to successfully communicate scientific results in written and oral form. The postdoctoral associate is also expected to interact and work with graduate and undergraduate students in the group. Interested candidates should send a statement of purpose, a CV to https://jobs.uark.edu/postings/15017. Up to three recommendation letters should be sent to [email protected] (RE: Postdoctoral search). More information about the group can be found at http://comp.uark.edu/~sbarraza/index.shtml.
