We are seeking a talented computational scientist to work on one of the Excalibur funded projects (https://excalibur.ac.uk/projects/) that aims to ensure our community is ready, both in terms of skilled personnel and suitable software, for exascale High Performance Computing platforms. 
 
Currently, two posts are available at UCL to work within the group led by Prof Scott Woodley, one post (first link given below) that is part of the cross-cutting call and is based on the use of quantum algorithms for investigating solid solutions, whereas the other post (second link given below) is focused on MMM HPC workflows and ispart of the recently funded PAX-HPC (Particles at eXascale on High Performance Computers) design and development working group, which is a collaboration between the Materials and Molecular Modelling (MMM) Exascale Design and Development Working Group (DDWG) and the Massively Parallel Particle Hydrodynamics (MPPH) for Engineering and Astrophysics DDWG. Application deadline for both appointments is 18th March 2022. 
 
 
 
The PAX-HPC project has at least two further appointments (deadline 7th March) , the first post, based at STFC’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and led by Ian Bush, and the second post, based at STFC’s Daresbury Laboratory, led by Thomas Keal and Alin Marin-Elena.
 
 
 


The Cross-cutting project has at least one further appointment (deadline 10th March) based at Durham, which will focus on the use of quantum algorithms for fluid simulations.
