CSC is now looking for a specialist to join our science support team in helping researchers using our modern and capable HPC environment. The environment consists of multiple high performance platforms covering the full range of computational needs from cloud to Mahti - the fastest supercomputer in the Nordics. Later this year we will launch the fastest supercomputer in Europe - LUMI. Migrating researchers to use LUMI is supported by the EuroHPC Competence Center EU project where you would act as CSC’s internal project coordinator.

The job consists of assisting researchers via individual support requests, software installations, user documentation, training events and pilot projects to enable efficient usage of the supercomputing platforms. The support work is done in collaboration with the support team where your tasks will include:

• Support researchers with molecular dynamics (MD) / computational chemistry and science in general
• Coordinate EuroHPC Competence Center efforts at CSC in helping researchers benefit from LUMI
• Develop user documentation, customer and internal support and training

If you find these topics interesting and motivating, you may be the person we are looking for! You have a few years of hands-on experience on running MD and other computational chemistry jobs on HPC systems, and a Ph.D in a related field. You are interested in project management and want to develop and share best practices. Additionally, you are familiar with at least shell scripting and Python. In this position excellent skills in both spoken and written English are required, while Finnish is seen as an advantage.
