The two working groups „Optical Materials: Computational Methods” at Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) in the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD and “Theory of Electron Dynamics and Spectroscopy” at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), both lead by (soon-to-be) Prof. Dr. Annika Bande, seek several inspired new team members with diverse interests at PhD and postdoc level and background in theoretical chemistry or similar.

Topics at LUH are related to inorganic chemistry applications and optics and center around:

  • Development of (quantum) algorithms for light-driven electron dynamics
  • Characterization of (inorganic) optical materials via theoretical spectroscopy
  • Explainable machine learning for spectroscopy and beyond

Topics at HZB focus on quantum materials research:

  • X-ray spectroscopic characterization of functional materials
  • Silicon spin qubit manipulation via magnetic and optical field

Moreover, at LUH, part-time positions as IT technician and as secretary are vacant.

Official position openings will follow from September on. If you wish to express preliminary interest and receive specific information in due time, please send me your short CV and a motivation statement on your topic preference and respective background knowledge.

With kind regards,

Annika Bande
