Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Applications are invited for an Associate Research Scientist (junior faculty) position at CCQ (Flatiron Institute, Simons Foundation, New York) in the field of Computational Theory of Correlated Materials. Applicants should have a strong background in the development and use of computational methods combining electronic structure and many-body approaches for explaining and predicting properties of materials with strong electronic correlations, and a strong research agenda in the field of quantum materials.

Directed by Antoine Georges and co-directed by Andrew Millis, the Center for Computational Quantum Physics (CCQ), located in New York City, is a leading international center for the study of equilibrium and non-equilibrium many-body quantum systems, with applications to condensed matter physics, materials science, chemistry and related fields. The development of the concepts, algorithms and code libraries needed to advance the field is fundamental to the work of the center. Research projects currently pursued at CCQ cover a broad range of methods and interest.

Review of applications will begin on or around Feb 1, 2024.

Apply here.
