A specially appointed Assistant Professor position is available in Kanazawa University, as part of the new World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI) ‘Nano Life Science Institute’ (nanolsi.kanazawa-u.ac.jp). The candidate will drive the simulation efforts in Kanazawa in partnership with Prof. Adam Foster at Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland (physics.aalto.fi/sin). The project focuses on addressing the challenges faced in simulations of solid-liquid interfaces, including accurately modelling complex liquids and solvents, and aiding in the development of multiscale modelling approaches, coupling quantum simulations to atomistic and phenomenological schemes. The efforts are strongly linked with the WPI’s focus on the atomic and molecular scale exploration of biological phenomena, and offers plenty of opportunity for collaboration with local experimental research groups.
