The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Physics, https://www.uab.edu/cas/physics/, invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track faculty position that will strengthen the Department’s program in Computational Condensed Matter Physics. A qualified applicant will have a Ph.D. in Physics or related field. Research areas of interest include (but are not limited to) machine learning and data-driven simulation of quantum materials, high-performance computing, quantum computation and information science, non-equilibrium dynamics, and computational condensed matter physics. We are looking for an innovative and inclusive new faculty member with an outstanding publication record and a strong commitment to excellence and diversity in research, teaching, outreach, and student research supervision at both graduate and undergraduate levels. This faculty member will also help us sustain departmental efforts on data fluency and Computational Modeling Instruction. Screening of applications will begin on November 15, 2022 and continue until the position is filled.
