Tenure-track Assistant Professor

 

The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank with competitive startup, salary, and benefit packages, with a research focus in Computational Condensed Matter Physics.  Candidates are expected to develop and maintain an active, externally funded research program. Preference will be given to applicants whose expertise complements and integrates with ongoing university programs in computational materials and high-throughput simulations in condensed matter physics. Instructional roles include teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, as well as mentoring graduate students. 

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field, have post-doctoral research experience, and demonstrate commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.

UNT is the flagship of the UNT System, enrolling nearly 37,000 students and offering 97 bachelor, 88 master and 40 doctoral degree programs. The university is located in the economically and culturally vibrant Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
