The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Delaware (https://web.physics.udel.edu/) invites  applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in theoretical/computational electronic structure. All areas of modern ab initio and many-body methods applied to realistic materials or molecular systems will be given thorough consideration, including density functional theory; time-dependent density functional theory; many-body perturbation theory and coupled-cluster methods; GW-Bethe-Salpeter equation; dynamical mean field theory; and Quantum Monte Carlo. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or postdoctoral training in condensed matter physics, quantum chemistry, materials science or related discipline, as well as a proven track record in developing new methods and/or their implementation using high performance computing. The applicants are expected to demonstrate the potential for creative and outstanding scholarship and teaching, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.  Review of applications will begin on 1 November 2019 and continue until the position is filled. This theoretical/computational faculty position is one of the positions within a cluster (the other two positions are for experimental faculty in condensed matter physics or materials science). A description of the context for these three searches can be found with the link for submitting applications at: https://careers.udel.edu/cw/en-us/job/494331.
