Job Description and Requirements

Synopsys is seeking an applications engineer for our QuantumATK team. We develop a leading-edge software platform for atomic-scale materials modeling simulations. Your role will be to provide top-tier scientific and technical support for our customers, and to further develop the application of QuantumATK in relevant fields of science and industries, especially the semiconductor industry. This will involve meeting with industrial customers and development of application examples. You may also conduct webinars, contribute to marketing material, publish in leading scientific journals, and be involved in developing software modules. We are looking for talented people with proven competences in the areas
 

Atomic-scale modeling

  • Excellent background in ab-initio materials modeling
  • Experience with electron transport and/or classical-potential simulations will be an advantage
  • Solid general background in solid-state physics and chemistry
  • Experience with machine-learning approaches to materials modeling will be an advantage

General

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • General programming skills, particularly Python

The successful applicant

  • Preferably has a degree in physics, chemistry, or similar
  • Is an outstanding individual with great communication skills
  • Has a broad set of skills and is ready to apply them to any task
  • Is dedicated with focus on getting the job done
  • Has a positive mindset and is motivated by challenging projects
