Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The Khaliullin group (McGill) is accepting applications for three postdoctoral positions in the area of high-throughput computational materials design. The emphasis of the projects is on the development of electronic structure and machine learning methods for rapid materials screening.

Position 1. Design of exotic 2D materials for electronic and clean energy applications.
Position 2. Design of anode and electrolyte materials for all-solid batteries.
Position 3. Electronic structure theory of molecules and materials.

Required qualifications:
* Ph.D. obtained no later than 2019 in physics, chemistry, computer science, applied mathematics, materials science, or any relevant discipline;
* Established publication record in method development;
* Solid programming skills.

Desired qualifications:
* Knowledge of numerical methods and algorithms (linear algebra, statistics, optimization);
* Working knowledge of electronic structure methods (QMC, DFT).
* Familiarity with machine learning methods and their applications in materials modeling;

Please send your CV to Prof. Rustam Khaliullin at [email protected] and indicate which of the three positions you would be interested in. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a skills test and then will be contacted individually for an online interview.
