The University of California Riverside has strong, cross-disciplinary experimental research activities within the areas of 2D materials and magnetic materials with applications in electronics, magnetics, opto-electronics, phononics, thermoelectrics, and energy. To support those efforts, we are conducting a cluster faculty search (3 open rank positions) with potential home departments in engineering or the sciences in the areas of computational materials and theoretical condensed matter physics. The broadly classified sub areas of interest are (1) computation applied to understanding growth-structure-property relations in materials science including high-throughput materials modeling; (2) application and development of methods to calculate electronic excited-state behavior and properties of materials; and (3) application and development of methods to predict properties of strongly correlated materials using traditional tools of condensed matter theory or more quantitative tools such as dynamical mean field theory or quantum Monte Carlo. Application directions can be found at http://www.engr.ucr.edu/facultysearch. Full consideration will be given to applications received by Jan. 1, 2015. Applications will continue to be accepted until the positions are filled. EEO/AA/Disability/Vets Employer. The University of California Riverside is embarking on a major new hiring initiative that will add 300 tenure-track positions in 33 cross-disciplinary areas. Details can be found at http://provost.ucr.edu/cluster-hiring/activesearches.html
