The operational plan of the 2024 Jang Young Sil Fellow Program will be implemented as follows to establish an advanced scientific talent development system, enabling KAIST to support the growth of outstanding domestic/international post-doc researchers in major fields of science and technology.

1. Purpose
◦ Enables KAIST to support the growth of outstanding domestic/international post-doc researchers in major fields of science and technology
◦ Maximizes the research capabilities of emerging researchers, nurturing them into talents capable of producing research outcomes on par with that of KAIST faculty

2. Details
◦ (Target) Doctoral candidates expecting graduation from domestic/international universities, and world-class researchers who obtained their doctoral degree in the past 5 years (※ Must hold a doctoral degree on the date of appointment)
◦ (Budget) Annual KRW 100 million per person (personnel expenses of KRW 80 million, research fund of KRW 20 million)
◦ (Period) Initial contract will be one year, with the possibility of renewal through annual performance evaluation (max. 3 years)
