The PhD program in Physics, Astrophysics and Applied Physics at the University of Milano offers high-level research training in nearly all areas of Physics including Astrophysics and Cosmology, Condensed Matter, Quantum Optics, Nuclear Physics, Plasma Physics, Particle Physics, Theoretical Physics, Nanotechnology, Quantum Information, Accelerator Physics, Biophysics, Electronics, Environmental Physics, Medical Physics.

The School offers a variety of educational opportunities, including colloquia by world class speakers, student workshops, and training in communication skills.

The School offers 14 scholarships for its three-year graduate program.

The scholarship provides full coverage of University fees, a net salary of 14,450 EUR/yr, and a travel grant of 3,000 EUR during the second and third year. Two contributions of 2,000 EUR/yr will be granted to the two best-ranking students from outside the Milano area.

Additional support (typically 2,000 EUR/yr) may be obtained through part-time teaching assistantships.

The deadline for applications is 2:00 pm July 20th, 2020.

The scholarships will be awarded based on the candidates' CV, a written non-binding research project, two reference letters and an interview to be held on-line starting from July 30th, 2020.
