Messages from the Psi-k trustees and other topics of relevance to the Psi-k community, e.g. community-led software codes or databases…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 33rd Annual Workshop on Recent Developments in Electronic Structure Methods (ES21), to be held virtually at the Center for Computational Quantum Physics (CCQ), Flatiron Institute, July 12th – July 15th, 2021.

For over 30 years, the Annual Workshop on Recent Developments in Electronic Structure Methods has brought together participants in electronic structure theory from universities, colleges, institutes and laboratories around the world. To continue the tradition of this workshop series, CCQ is hosting a virtual ES21 this summer. We hope this will provide an occasion for the community to gather after a very challenging year, hear about the latest developments, and discuss the future of electronic structure methods.

The program consists of invited talks, including a special presentation by renowned astrophysicist David Spergel, incoming President of the Simons Foundation, on science funding and computational research. In addition, there will be two poster sessions and a small-group breakout discussion.

The workshop is free and open to all, but registration is required. Please register at the workshop website: https://www.simonsfoundation.org/international-workshop-on-recent-developments-in-electronic-structure-es21/. On the registration form, you will be asked to indicate if you would like to present a poster (submission deadline for poster title is June 21st) and to indicate your preferred topics for the small group discussions.

We are looking forward to an exciting workshop, and cordially invite you to join us!

Sincerely,

Tim Berkelbach, Cyrus Dreyer, Shiwei Zhang

On behalf of the International Steering Committee
