Dear Colleagues and Friends,

we write with some updates on plans for joint CECAM Psi-k activities. As you may know, this year’s CECAM Psi-k Conference:

New horizons in nucleation: a playground for classical and ab initio simulation methods

planned at the Thomas Young Center in London for the end of July 2020 has been postponed due to the uncertainties on health safety and travel caused by CoVid-19. This conference will be held in 2021. New dates are not available yet, but will be communicated as soon as possible. Please keep also an eye on the Conference website and on http://www.psi-k.net and http://www.cecam.org for up-to-date information.

The pandemic has also caused the postponement of the Psi-k 2020 conference, originally scheduled for September 2020 in Lausanne. This important event will be held at the same location on August 23-26 2021 with the announced format, plenary speakers and symposia, including two sessions co-organised with CECAM.

Considering these postponements, the potential uncertainty on travel next year, and the already rich program of events that both organisations plan to fund (or co-fund) in 2021, CECAM and Psi-k have decided to skip the 2020 call for proposals for the CECAM Psi-k conference.

We hope that you will understand the reasons for this decision, and wish to assure you that we are committed to continuing our fruitful collaboration for many years to come. The call for the CECAM Psi-k Conference will be back in 2021!
