General announcements

Messages from the Psi-k trustees and other topics of relevance to the Psi-k community, e.g. community-led software codes or databases…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a 3-4 week delay between posts being submitted and emails being sent to the mailing list. Please bear with us while we try to improve this.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear Psi-k community members,

We are representatives from a South Korea-based startup company active in cloud-based materials simulations called Virtual Lab Inc. (http://www.virtuallab.co.kr/en/), who have developed among other services an innovative online SaaS platform for performing such simulations called Materials Square (https://www.materialssquare.com/). We believe our solutions for performing modeling on materials, chemicals and engineering applications directly on the cloud could in fact be of great benefit to the R&D efforts of your organization.

We also wanted to draw your attention to the below examples of training classes in computational materials modeling and chemistry (via DFT and MD techniques) that Materials Square has recently prepared:

The conditions for the classes are as follows:

- 6 weeks long
- 100$ per student
- 2000 CPU hours included

Please let us therefore know if your research group would be interested in using this material in order to train young Ph.D students, or even experienced researchers, in running DFT or MD simulations using our integrated cloud computing platform. We remain at your disposal should you have any questions or comments about this training program. Please address all questions or requests for further information at the following email addresses:

Many thanks for your consideration,

Gabriele Mogni
