General announcements

Messages from the Psi-k trustees and other topics of relevance to the Psi-k community, e.g. community-led software codes or databases…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

HPCE3 is an EU programme funding research visits to 9 European countries, see below, from all of EU and affiliated member states (and more). Visits can be 3-13 week long and must need computational resources. HPCE3 covers the costs (travel, accommodation, commuting - details vary per country) and the local HPC-center grants CPU time.

Amazing 99+% of visitors so far (first 2.5 years) have been either "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with their visit according to feedback queries. Physics, chemistry and materials science are particularly well suited for the programme - and dominate the statistics with 64% of all accepted visits - but all fields of science are supported.

Visitor: The online application is easy to fill in and acceptance rate is high (79%). Choose from hundreds of host groups already listed or suggest a new one.

Host: If you're affiliated in one of these [DE, ES, FI, GR, IR, IT, NL, UK, SE] you can also "invite" a collaborator to your group by listing yourself as a "host" on the HPCE3 website and asking a visitor to apply for a visit to your group.

Read more and apply in: http://www.hpc-europa.eu/

Visits accepted in this call optimally start between May-September 2020. The next call deadline is May 14th and visits accepted there are aimed to start between August-December 2020.

Naturally, we'll be happy to answer any questions!

On behalf of the HPCE3,
Atte Sillanpää
