This year, Computing Insight UK (CIUK) will take place on the 12-13 December 2017 at Manchester Central Convention Complex. The main theme of the event will concentrate on joining up e-Infrastructure within the UK. As with previous years, CIUK aims to provide a programme of engaging and thought-provoking speakers highlighting the various ways computing boosts research, business and society around us.

We are currently accepting applications for our student poster competition. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, all forms of advances in high performance computing, storage, networking and big data analysis. Successful applicants will be invited to display their posters during the two days of the event with a dedicated poster session scheduled for the evening of Tuesday 12 December immediately following our keynote presentation. A panel of judges will select their winning poster during this session with an announcement made on the afternoon of Wednesday 13 December. A prize of £500 is up for grabs for the competition winner! We will also waive registration fees to the event for all students selected to present posters during the event so you will be able to enjoy the CIUK exhibition and full programme of presentations and breakout sessions free of charge.

Brief abstracts of no more than 300 words, summarising what you wish to present with your poster should be sent to [email protected]. You should also include the following information:

·         Full name, email and affiliation
·         Name and email of supervisor

We aspire to make the conference as inclusive as possible, recognising the benefits of having a vibrant, diverse community. We welcome applications from under-represented groups and will promote a supportive culture for our speakers and all participants.

Important Deadlines
Friday 24 November – Deadline for abstracts
Monday 4 December – Successful applicants will be informed
Tuesday 12 December – Poster session at CIUK 2017
Wednesday 13 December – Competition winner announced

We look forward to receiving your abstracts.
