In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear Psi-kers

The year 2016 is already in full swing. Next week there will be the traditional Psi-k Get-together in the context of the DPG Spring Meeting in Regensburg. The workshop program for 2016 has started, and the poster downloadable from the Psi-k Website lists the many exciting events taking place this year. As you may have noticed, the website also relays lots on information of many other conferences of interest to the Psi-k community, and has also become a much-used channel for job postings and recruitment.

The new Psi-k Website has proven very popular, and facilitates the dissemination of news to the world-wide electronic-structure community. Thanks to Mike Towler, I can now share with you some information about the registered users and recipients of the Psi-k mailing list.

The website has nearly 3000 subscribers, of which 58% are from Europe and 42% from outside Europe. The full list of countries and users is as follows:

This is an interesting list indeed, and shows worldwide interest in our science and in our methods, which are now applied in a wide range of disciplines. Ab initio -type methods have proven their power, and the future looks bright.
