Announcements of conferences, workshops, schools…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a 3-4 week delay between posts being submitted and emails being sent to the mailing list. Please bear with us while we try to improve this.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear colleagues,

registration is now open for the second edition of the workshop "Quantum Science Generation" which will happen in Trento (Italy). The workshop is focused on quantum science and technology and will take place from the 6th to the 10th of May 2024.

The workshop aims to gather together early-stage and senior experienced researchers in the macro-field of quantum science and technology, especially giving the possibility for young researchers to present and share their work. The major focus will be on quantum simulators, numerical methods & tensor networks for many-body problems, photonics and quantum-cryptography, quantum chemistry, and in general quantum technologies with broad meaning.
Moreover, we will have some special sessions about industrial and start-up applications.

Here is the official page of the event: https://indico.ectstar.eu/event/204/ (bottom page you find the registration link)

Abstract submission is also open, and we encourage everyone to apply either for a talk or a poster.
The fee is 210€, and it will cover coffee breaks, lunches, conference dinners, and other social events (aperitivo and a special guided taste tour to the local distillery "Marzadro”). Registrations and abstract submissions are open until 12 April.

Due to space constraints, we will have a maximum of ca. 60 participants. We will give priority to the first people applying for poster or contributed talk, so we encourage all the possible participants to apply as soon as possible.

Invited speakers of this year include:

- Artur Izmaylov (University of Toronto, Canada)
- Claudiu Genes (Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Erlangen, Germany)
- Silke Ospelkaus-Schwarzer (Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany)
- Frank Pollmann (Technische Universität München, Germany)
- Giuseppe Vallone (Università di Padova, Italy)
- Nathan Wiebe (University of Toronto, Canada)
- Peter Zoller (IQOQI, Austrian Academy of Sciences)

We are very much looking forward to seeing all of you in the beautiful Trento!

Best regards,

Your QSG2024 committee:
Valentina Amitrano, Alessio Baldazzi, Carlos Benavides-Riveros, Anna Berti, Daniele De Bernardis, Alberto Nardin, Veronica Panizza, Luca Vespucci
