Dear Colleagues,

Registration is now open for the SMART-X workshop on X-ray spectroscopy and related phenomena, to be held 4th-6th of December 2023 in the botanical garden in Palermo, Sicily at this link http://www.smartx-itn.eu/workshop-palermo. This workshop event of the SMART-X doctoral network aims to bring together experts on X-ray and non-equilibrium spectroscopy. By fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, the event seeks to advance our understanding of X-ray spectroscopy and its role in probing fundamental properties of matter under extreme conditions.

Confirmed keynote speakers are:

* Angel Rubio (MPSD, Hamburg)
* Massimo Altarelli (former director XFEL, MPSD, Hamburg)
* Giacomo Ghiringhelli (PoliMi, Milan)
* Sangeeta Sharma (MBI, Berlin)

There is no conference fee and contributed talks are encouraged for a lively scientific exchange. Registration will close on November 2nd, 2023.
