Back to Event listings...
Dear Colleagues,
After a five year hiatus, the Physics Boat sets sail once again, so that I would like to attract your attention to workshop "Atomic structure of nanosystems from first-principles simulations and microscopy experiments", which is to be held onboard a cruise ship going from Helsinki to Stockholm and back on May 28 - May 30, 2024:
https://physics-boat.rahtiapp.fi/
The abstract submission is open now, and the deadline is 22.03.2024 (March 22, 2024). Registration and abstract submission for the workshop is possible via an online form, follow the link from the workshop webpage.
In this workshop we are going to bring together experts in microscopy and computational materials scientists to discuss the progress in TEM/STM/AFM experiments, analysis of the images and visualization of the atomic structure of nanosystems. Helium ion microscopy is also one of the topic of the workshop. The workshop will be focused on 2D materials, but not limited to them.
The list of the speakers is available from the workshop webpage. Several additional invited speakers will be selected based on the submitted abstracts. A limited number of slots will be available for contributed talks and more for poster presentations--we limit the workshop to 60 people. If the number of submitted abstracts exceeds the workshop capacity, the participants will be selected based on the relevance of the abstract to the workshop topics, then on the ‘first come-first served’ basis.
The workshop/accommodation fee (which also includes meals) is 250 – 350 Euro, depending on the cabin type.
We apologize if you receive this message more than once due to crossposting.
