Dear colleagues,

The Volker Heine Young Investigator Award was announced with a deadline of April 15, and we have been glad to find many excellent applications. In view of the growth and breadth of our quickly changing community, it appears, however, that the applications received so far do not yet reflect the diversity in all respects that would be truly representative. We realize that in this period, it is more difficult than usual to be mobilized and write applications, or encourage junior colleagues to do so. Therefore, an extension of the deadline till May 27 has been decided. Note that for fairness, the CV of new applicants should reflect the status of April 15. Please, use this chance to make your work known to the community by applying if you are eligible, or otherwise, please support and encourage eligible collaborators and colleagues to apply.
