Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce a symposium on

The Ceramics Genome: Modelling, Simulation and In Situ Experimentation

at the European Ceramics Society meeting in Budapest from 9-13 July.

Abstract submission deadline Feb 17th.

The symposium will bring together the researchers in modern computational and in situ characterisation techniques, to accelerate the understanding and design of functional ceramics.

Topics:

Atomistic structure and bonding behaviour of ceramics

Microstructural evolution driven by temperature, electrical bias, mechanical stress, or magnetic field

In-operando studies of ceramic-based materials and devices

Novel ceramics & compounds for energy generation and storage

New developments and application of in-situ experimentation

Computational modeling and simulation of structural dynamics

High throughput experiments relating ceramic structure and properties

Managing big data—tools and methods

Materials data discovery

Invited speakers:

Xiaoli Tan - Iowa State University

Layla Mehdi - PNNL

Wai-yim Ching - University of Missouri

Sibylle Gemming - Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf

Alessandro Da Vita - Kings College London

We look forward to seeing you there,

On behalf of the organisers,
