Young scientists interested in basic electronic-structure theory are invited to attend the 1st USTC-FHI workshop on the frontiers of advanced electronic-structure methods, to be held in Hefei, China, from June 14 to 18, 2016. The workshop is intended to bring together world-leading specialists on electronic-structure theory to discuss challenging problems and open issues in this field.

The emphasis is placed on recent conceptual and methodology development on basic (first-principles) electronic structure theory -- density functional theory and beyond, but other topics are covered as well. The workshop will follow the format of the Gorden Research Conferences. Young researchers interested in this meeting are encouraged to submit an abstract for poster presentations.
