Dear Colleagues,

On the behalf of the scientific committee, I am glad to announce the opening of the inscriptions for the symposium "Modelling perovskite solar cells from the microscale to the macroscale"

The symposium will be held in Torremolinos (near Malaga, Spain) from 22nd to 26th October 2018 and is part of the nanoGe Fall Meeting 2018.

Together with the swift emerging of perovskites for optoelectronic applications, also the modeling activity related to this class of materials and devices showed an impressive growth, bringing together in just few years a various and inhomogeneous community, coming from different research fields, as semiconductor science, solid state physics, theoretical chemistry, engineering, etc.

This symposium will act as a forum for this rapidly expanding and multidisciplinary community and it will be focused on the simulation of the physico-chemical processes taking place in hybrid metal halide perovskite materials, interfaces and devices, by considering the appropriate length scale at which these processes take place, in a multiscale perspective.

Research challenges to be addressed include the influence of materials and morphology, mixed cation perovskites, 0D to 3D perovskites, the development of lead-free and all organic materials, carrier selective contact layers, phase changes, ion migration, hysteresis, thermal and moisture instability, mechanical flexibility.

Confirmed speakers are:

  • Juan A. Anta, Universidad Pablo de Olavide, ES
  • Alessio Gagliardi, Technische Universitaet Muenchen, DE
  • Saiful Islam, University of Bath, GB
  • Claudine Katan, Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes, CNRS, FR
  • Edoardo Mosconi, CNR-ISTM Perugia, IT
  • Giles Richardson, University of Southampton, GB
  • Ursula Rothlisberger, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne EPFL, CH
  • Beat Ruhstaller, ZHAW Institute of Computational Physics, CH
  • Paolo Umari, Università di Padova, IT

Inscriptions are now open. Important dates:

  • Early registration: 25th June
  • Abstract submission deadline oral: 25th June 2018
  • Abstract submission deadline Poster: 27th August
  • Early Registration fee should be paid before July 23rd, 2018

We are looking forward to seeing you in Torremolinos in October

Yours sincerely,
