Announcements of conferences, workshops, schools…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear all in the Psi-k Community,

We are glad to announce the

27th ETSF Workshop on Electronic Excitations: Shining light on matter through interdisciplinary theoretical approaches

to be held in Marseille, France, 3-7 June 2024.

Workshop website: https://sites.google.com/view/etsf-workshop2024

The 2024 edition of the workshop focuses on interdisciplinary theoretical approaches to the characterization of excited state properties. Topics covered by the workshop will include:

- Non-equilibrium dynamics (Time-resolved vibrational and electronic spectroscopy, electronic correlation, coherence and decoherence),
- Charge and energy transfer in solids, in hetero- and nano- structures (role of point and extended defects, thermal effects),
- Advanced methods in the description of electronic excitations (electron-phonon coupling, multiscale and embedding methods),
- Theoretical and numerical developments (machine learning, many body formalisms, mathematical formalisms, non-linear optical spectroscopy).

Introductory lectures:
Nicolas Ferré, Aix Marseille University, France: Multiscale and Interdisciplinary Viewpoint
Claudia Draxl, Humboldt University (Berlin): Theory viewpoint
Isabelle Régnier, Aix-Marseille University, France: Influence of gender stereotypes on cognitive performance and recruitment decisions.

Invited speakers (theory):
Alicia Palacios, Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain
    Ivan Maliyov, Caltech, Pasadena, California
Adam Gali, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary
Bo Peng, Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge, UK
Pier Luigi Cudazzo, University of Trento, Italy
Xavier Blase, CNRS, Institut Neel, Grenoble, France
Julien Toulouse, Sorbonne Université & CNRS, IUF, Paris, France
Maria Hellgren, CNRS, Sorbonne Université, France

Invited speakers (experiment):
    Lou Barreau, ISMO, Universite Paris-Saclay
    Alberto Zobelli, Paris-Saclay University, France
    Michele Celebrano, Politecnico Milano, Italy

Information regarding registration and abstract submission will be sent in January.
