Announcements of conferences, workshops, schools…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear Psi-k Community,

NREL is hosting a 4-day school on many-body perturbation theory with the Questaal code 11-14 March 2024 at the NREL campus in Golden, Colorado. Talks on many body perturbation theory will be combined with practical, hands-on tutorials on using the quasiparticle self-consistent GW (QSGW) + Bethe-Salpeter equation (BSE) approximations implemented in Questaal.

The school is aimed at researchers interested in performing high-fidelity, first principles simulations on real materials and may be of interest to lecturers, postdoctoral researchers, and experienced Ph.D. students.

Local costs, including individual accommodation close to NREL, lunch, transport to the laboratory and a conference dinner are covered for in-person attendees. Remote participation will be possible using zoom. There is no registration fee.

Registration deadline is 31 January 2024.
