Dear colleagues,

Due to travel restrictions, we will be offering online our short-course on machine learning for disordered materials. The course will be held on August 10-12, 2020 and is organized by the American Ceramic Society.

The goal of this 3-day course is to provide a general introduction to machine learning applied to non-crystalline materials (with a focus on glass).

Focus will be placed on:

  • General introduction to supervised and unsupervised machine learning,
  • Review of existing methods and training of data-driven models,
  • Development of composition-structure-property predictive models,
  • Discovery of new materials with improved properties by Bayesian optimization, and,
  • Identification of relevant structural patterns in disordered atomic structures.

No prerequisite on machine learning or coding a required for this introductory class.

More information on this course (and on how to register) can be found here:

Best,
M. Bauchy
