Novel 2D magnetic materials and heterostructures ... (No replies)
Back to Event listings...
Dear Colleague,
We would like to inform you about the “Novel 2D magnetic materials and heterostructures” mini-colloquium we are co-organizing, which will take place at CMD30-FisMat2023 joint conference (Sept. 4th – 8th, Milano): a large international conference covering all aspects of condensed matter physics, which includes 4 mini-colloquia (counting this one) in the field of 2D magnetic and spintronic materials.
The “Novel 2D magnetic materials and heterostructures” mini-colloquium aims at bringing together a new generation of scientists devoted to explore and develop 2D magnetic materials, combining theory and experiments, and to eventually exploit its fantastic potential. The programme will focus on two-dimensional (2D) magnetic crystals, including interfaces, single-layers and van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures. The great opportunities that emanate from combining different 2D materials in vdW heterostructures to create a variety of unprecedented properties and functionalities will be highlighted. It will include the combination of 2D magnetism with other properties like ferroelectricity (and, thus, multiferroicity) or superconductivity at the 2D limit, as well as the manipulation of such properties with, e.g., molecular doping, interfacing, or strain-engineering (straintronics).
This mini-colloquium will offer a very interesting platform of discussion and networking for scientists working on 2D magnetism and their heterostructures.
We thus encourage you to participate by submitting an abstract.
The procedure for registration and abstract submission (until April the 15th) can be found on the conference website: https://eventi.cnism.it/cmd30-fismat/submission_form
Invited speakers (confirmed):
- Marco Gibertini – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia
- Shawulienu Kezilebieke – University of Jyväskylä
- Mirko Cinchetti - TU Dortmund
- José Lado – Aalto University
Looking forward to meeting you at the mini-colloquium!
José J. Baldoví, Alberto Brambilla, Guido Fratesi and Ilaria Bergenti
