We are happy to announce MADICES 2022 (Machine-Actionable Data Interoperability for Chemical Sciences), an upcoming (Feb 7–9) virtual CECAM workshop for which more information and registration details can be found on the workshop homepage. 

We are aiming to bring together (primarily) technical experts in software (including ELNs, APIs, ontologies, etc.) and data infrastructure for interoperability in the materials and chemical sciences, for discussions that might lead to a co-written perspective paper (probably after some additional followup meetings), and to motivate any shared software or infrastructure that promotes discoverability and interoperability of tools (i.e., an “app store” for sharing API schemas and containerized libraries).

We’ll use X-ray spectroscopy as initial case study to guide our discussions (given that there is both a large computational and experimental community).
