we are delighted to announce the "International Symposium on Material Design & the 11th USPEX Workshop":

to be held at Villa Monastero, Varenna, Lake Como, Italy, 5-9 June 2016.

This school-symposium aims to spread among (young) researchers the use of structure prediction methods and the different methods of investigation that allow to characterize the properties of the new structures so discovered, in normal conditions and high pressure. These methods are generally of great importance in the head materials science, crystallography of ordinary pressures and high-pressure, mineralogy, chemistry/structural physics solid state, of nanoscience and catalysis.

A generous amount of bursaries for young scientists is available thanks to IUCr, AIC and INSTM (information and deadlines on the website).
