Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to announce HoW exciting! 2018, a workshop on excitations in solids. It will take place from July 31 – August 9, 2018 at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Campus Adlershof, and is now open for registration.

The event comprises

• Keynote lectures concerning a general introduction on density-functional theory and many-body perturbation theory 

• Hands-on tutorial on the exciting code

• International conference on excitations in solids, covering most recent theoretical advances together with the forefront of experimental research.

We encourage participants to submit abstracts for contributed talks (a limited number of slots are available) or for poster presentations.

The number of participants is restricted to 70.

Limited financial support is available for young scientists (PhD students and young post-docs) depending on grants from funding agencies. The deadline for regular registration and request for financial support is May 15, 2018.
