Dear colleagues,

We are organizing a symposium dedicated to the computational design of ceramics and glasses at the MS&T17 conference (Oct. 8-12 2017, Pittsburgh). We would be glad if you or one of your co-workers could contribute by submitting an abstract.

The (final) deadline for abstract submission is March 30.

Abstract submission:

More details about the symposium:
This symposium will provide a forum to identify current achievements and existing challenges in computational and informatics discovery and characterization of ceramic materials. Computational techniques ranging from first principles to continuum modeling to study ceramic materials of all compositions, either in crystalline or amorphous state, will be considered. Study focused on informatics approaches, machine learning, and data-mining for materials discovery are also encouraged.

Topics include, but are not limited to:
- First principles studies of the structure and properties of ceramic materials,
- Molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo studies,
- Upscaling techniques and mesoscale modeling,
- Continuum modeling of ceramic materials,
- Breakthroughs in computational methods for ceramic materials,
- Informatics, machine learning, data-mining approaches.

Please let me know if you need more information. We are looking forward to seeing you in Pittsburgh!

Best regards,
