Announcements of conferences, workshops, schools…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear Psi-k Community,

The abstract submission deadline (Dec.1) for the DPG Spring Meeting (March 17-24 2024, Berlin, Germany) is quickly
approaching and we would kindly ask you to consider submitting your abstracts to the focus session “Heat Transport
at the Nanoscale: Theory meets Experiment”.

This session is hosted by the the semiconductor division HL and aims at bringing together international experts that
have been advancing our understanding of thermal transport to discuss their most recent advancements. A particular
focus will be laid on future research directions and on how the necessary next steps can profit from synergies between
theory and experiment.
In this regard, as series of excellent invited speakers have already confirmed their participation, including

  ●  Dr. Sebastian Reparaz, Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona
  ●  Prof. Dr. Ivana Savić, King's College London
  ●  Dr. Michele Simoncelli, University of Cambridge
  ●  Prof. Dr. Ilaria Zardo, University of Basel

We are hoping for many more exciting contributed talks as well as posters
and are looking forward to meet you in Berlin for fruitful discussions.

Best regards,

Christian Carbogno, Saskia F. Fischer, and Markus R. Wagner
