We are pleased to announce the Focus Session ''Emerging magnetic phenomena from chiral phonons'' at the Spring Meeting of the Germany Physical Society (DPG Frühjahrstagung) of the Condensed Matter Section, taking place at TU Berlin from March 17th-22nd 2024.

The Focus Session is part of the Magnetism (MA) division of the DPG and will feature five invited speakers, as well as several contributed talks. The contributed abstract submission is open until December 1st 2023.

The Focus Session aims to introduce chiral phonons as an emerging field to the condensed matter community, highlighting novel magnetic phenomena that arise from phonon angular momentum. While the session emphasizes magnetic properties, topics covering all aspects of chiral phonons and phonon angular momentum are welcome.

The coordinators of the Focus Session are Ulrich Nowak and Sebastian Goennenwein from the University of Konstanz.
