Dear all,

On behalf of the scientific committee, I would like to invite you to participate in the RSC Faraday Discussion on quantum effects in complex systems.

The meeting will be held at the University of Warwick, Coventry, UK on 11-13 September 2019.

The meeting is aimed at both experimental and theoretical researchers (including PhD students, post-doctoral researchers and faculty).

The meeting themes include:
- Quantum coherence in complex environments
- Spectroscopic signatures of quantum effects
- Zero-point energy and tunnelling
- Emerging opportunities and future directions

Keynote speakers include:
- David Manolopoulos (Introductory speakers), University of Oxford, UK
- Sharon Hammes-Schiffer (Closing speaker), Yale University, USA
- Stuart Althorpe, University of Cambridge, UK
- Irene Burghardt, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany
- Helen Fielding, University College London, UK
- Alexandra Olaya-Castro, University College London, UK
- Martin Plenio, University of Ulm, Germany
- Greg Scholes, Princeton University, USA

RSC Faraday Discussions have a unique format. Research papers written by the speakers are distributed to all participants before the meeting, and most of the meeting is devoted to discussing the papers. Everyone contributes to the discussion - including presenting their own relevant research. The research papers and a record of the discussion are published in the journal Faraday Discussions.

Relevant deadlines:
- Oral abstracts: 3 December 2018
- Accepted papers: 22 April 2019
- Poster abstracts: 1 July 2019.

We look forward to welcoming you to Warwick in 2019!

Scott Habershon

on behalf of the scientific committee:
Graham Worth (UCL, UK), Alex Jones (NPL, UK), David Tew (MPI Stuttgart, Germany), Garth Jones (UEA, UK), Gabriela Schlau-Cohen (MIT, USA)
