Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the symposium A-5 of "Advanced Algorithms and Tools for Materials Informatics" that will be organized within MRM2023/IUMRS-ICA2023, the grand meeting by Materials Research Society of Japan (MRS-J) and the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS) in Kyoto, Japan, from December 11 to December 16, 2023. Here, we would like to invite you to contribute to the symposium.
"Advanced Algorithms and Tools for Materials Informatics" is motivated by the emergence of data and data learning in materials science and engineering. Today, we are in the midst of a major paradigm shift in how we holistically develop, design and fabricate new materials for real-world applications in the 21st century. The goal of this symposium is to exchange ideas, share knowledge and discuss challenges in the theory and computation of materials- and chem informatics for general applications, and to advance the development of new, state-of-the-art data science technologies in materials research. This symposium welcomes research on tools for automatic generation and transformation of data needed for all the above mentioned ML approaches, on the collected data itself (databases), on methods for sharing specific databases based on the FAIR principle, and on ontologies and metadata for organizing and understanding data structures. Finally, we will highlight software and tools for hands-on experience with introductory and advanced techniques in materials informatics.
Deadline for abstract submission is May 16, 2023. More information of MRM2023/IUMRS-ICA2023, the symposium, and how to submit abstracts can be found at https://mrm2023.jmru.org/program/symposium/ and https://mrm.confit.atlas.jp/login. We hope very much that you will be able to join us, and look forward to seeing you in Kyoto in December 2023.
Best regards
