To all in the Psi-k Community

As we come to the end of the year, we celebrate the return to a full programme of in-person workshops and other events following the pandemic. Following a wide-ranging consultation with the community at the Conference in 2022, we have also refreshed our working groups. This includes some adjustments to the topics, the inclusion of an early-career researcher and a member based outside Europe in each working group, and the introduction of a new theme of working groups looking at the wider engagement of Psi-k. Updates will appear on our web site at https://psi-k.net/groups/

Looking ahead, we are pleased to be able to announce that the next Psi-k Conference will again be held at the SwissTech Convention Centre in Lausanne in 2025. Therefore please SAVE THE DATE:

Psi-k Conference: 25-28 August 2025

The Trustees and Scientific Advisory Committee have agreed that a priority will be to minimise any increase in registration fees from the 2022 Conference, and a widespread consultation to determine the scientific programme will begin in 2024.

At the end of 2023, Igor Abrikosov and Nicola Marzari come to the end of their terms as Trustees, and will step down with our thanks for their contributions over the last 10 and 12 years respectively. I am also coming to the end of my term as Chair, and would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported Psi-k over the last three years: it has been a real privilege to serve in this way.

I am delighted that Arash Mostofi, who has served as a Psi-k Trustee for the past seven years, has agreed to take on this role from 1 January 2024.
