Announcements of conferences, workshops, schools…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear colleagues,

we are organizing a CECAM/Psi-K workshop entitled "Computational plasmonics: an ab initio and multiscale perspective", which will be held in Lausanne, 2-4 Nov 2015.
This workshop shall bring together theoreticians and experimentalists working on nanoplasmonics, with the focus on fundamental understanding of the plasmonic effects at the nanoscale.

Topics include:
-Description of plasmons from an electronic structure viewpoint
-First principles description of conventional and unconventional plasmonic materials
-Multiscale approaches to molecular and nanoplasmonic phenomena
-Experimental characterization of plasmons in nanostructures

There is no registration fee; applications for oral and poster presentations can still be submitted,
deadline extended to 20th July 2015

Confirmed Invited Speakers
- Javier Aizpurua(Centro de Física de Materiales, ES)
- Oliviero Andreussi (University of Pisa, IT)
- Jeremy Baumberg (University of Cambridge, UK)
- Alexandra Boltasseva (Purdue University, USA)
