The abstract submission for the mini-colloquium "Electronic and Magnetic excitations in 2D materials" is now open. The abstract of the mini-colloquium is:

"Collective excitations are key to understanding the behavior of matter. They determine a systematic response to external stimuli, and also its thermodynamic behavior. For instance, the low temperature behavior of magnetic 2D materials is dominated by magnons. In semiconducting 2D materials, excitons dominate the optical response even at room temperature. In this mini-colloquium we will gather experts on the field of 2D materials to reflect upon different aspects of their electronic and magnetic states from different points of view, including theory and computation of material properties, spectroscopy, quantum transport, topological properties of matter and any field related to the study of excitations in 2D materials. We will discuss phenomena in 2D materials like magnon propagation, superconductivity in moiré heterostructures, anomalous Hall effects, and alter magnetism."

The mini-colloquium will be held during the CMD31. The CMD31 conference will be held at the Altice Forum in Braga, Portugal, from September 2nd through September 6th, 2024.

CMD31 is an international conference covering all aspects of Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Physics, including both hard and soft condensed matter physics, liquid physics, biophysics, materials science, quantum physics, low temperature physics, strongly correlated materials, semiconductor physics, magnetism, superconductivity, surface and interface physics, electronic, optical, structural, and mechanical properties of materials, acoustics, disordered media, applications of materials, among others. Other related topics such as interdisciplinary ones and the development of research infrastructure in Europe are also considered.
