The 9th SINANO Modelling and Simulation Summer School will take place in Glasgow (Scotland, UK) from 12th - 14th July 2022, co-organized by the James Watt School of Engineering and Device Modelling Group at University of Glasgow.

General Information

The SiNANO Modelling and Simulation Summer School is a bi-annual comprehensive set of classes aimed at doctoral and postdoctoral level researchers, and young academics and modelling and simulation expert in industry. Via a programme consisting of lectures, tutorials, advanced discussion groups, the participants will expand and refine their knowledge of the modelling and simulation of cutting-edge semiconductor devices, with the world’s leading device modelling and simulation experts. The need for advanced modelling and simulation will be motivated by lectures on extremely scaled and novel Nano electronic devices covering the More MooreMore Than Moore and Beyond Moore domains.

Scope:

This year the SINANO Summer School will target multi-scale modelling and simulation of semiconductor devices. It includes a total of 12 lectures targeting topics related to the modelling and simulation as well as fabrication and characterization of different types of semiconductor nanoelectronic devices. The Summer School will cover to the following topics:

  • Novel nanoelectronics devices and corresponding modelling challenges
  • Material modelling and atomic scale device simulation
  • Quantum transport and simulations
  • Monte Carlo and Wigner Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Compact modelling
  • Process simulations
  • Design Technology Co-Optimization (DTCO)

Our SINANO Summer School is a unique opportunity for young researchers to become familiar with all scales of device modelling and for many types of device structures, as well as to interact with those top researchers. There will also be a comprehensive social programme attached to the course including dinners, hill walking and other excursions.
