This year's French Condensed Matter Meeting will be held in Grenoble, France from 27 to 31 August 2018.

One session will be dedicated to transition metal oxides and their heterostructures, interfaces and surfaces. The aim of this session is to bring together experimentalists and theorists studying the electronic and magnetic properties of these materials. This meeting will be a great opportunity to disseminate and exchange latest discoveries of novel collective phenomena that arise out of strong microscopic interactions in transition metal oxides.

We invite all interested researchers to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. The deadline is 15 April. Note that this conference encourages the participation of young researchers and phd students by keeping registration fees low.

Confirmed invited speakers are:

Alexandre Gloter, LPS Orsay
Shamashis Sengupta, CSNSM Orsay

Other relevant sessions in the conference are: Physics in High Magnetic Field Environments; In operando transmission electron microscopy; New materials: green energy and sustainable development; Ferroics: fundamental aspects and applications; Superconductivity: state of the art on the different mechanisms, theory and experiments; and High-throughput computational screening.

Further information regarding abstract submission and registration procedure can be found at:

Looking forward to seeing you at Grenoble.

Best regards,
Alaska Subedi and Silke Biermann
