Atomistic Computational Studies of Carbon:
A meeting to celebrate the scientific achievements of Malcolm Heggie
12th June 2019, Sussex University, Brighton, UK

Sadly in January this year Professor Malcolm Heggie passed away, after a career devoted to atomic scale modelling of defects in carbon materials. Supported by the British Carbon Group and CCP9 his friends are organising a one day meeting at Sussex University, on June 12th. The meeting is free but please register so we have the right numbers for lunch and coffee breaks:

The final programme will be available next week, additional poster presentations are still welcome after that. The meeting will include scientific presentations from colleagues and friends from around the world, exploring point defects, dislocations, mechanical properties and other aspects of atomistic simulations of carbon and related materials, and will be opened by his daughter Laura.

We'd be very pleased if you were able to attend, please spread the word to anyone you feel might be interested.
