Device Modelling Group at University of Glasgow is looking for a Research Associate to work on the EPSRC funded project: Quantum Simulator for Entangled Nano-Electronics (QSEE) - https://gow.epsrc.ukri.org/NGBOViewGrant.aspx?GrantRef=EP/S001131/1. The main aim of QSEE is to go beyond the state of the art in device modelling of nanoscale electronics devices such as resonant tunnelling diode and single electron transistors.

Also specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in 3D device simulations and code development, quantum transport simulation techniques such as Non-Equilibrium Green’s Function method, Monte Carlo transport, 3D solution of partial differential equations and numerical methods. Experience with electronic structure methods such as atomistic tight-binding, k.p, and DFT would be a particular advantage, as would knowledge of Matlab, and C/C++ programming languages. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
