Micro-/Nano-scale heat transfer group led by Prof. Ming Hu at the Mechanical Engineering Department, University of South Carolina has multiple postdoc openings for the broad areas of (1) multi-scale simulation of thermal transport in heterostructures; (2) machine learning for high throughput materials discovery, in particular screening and design of advanced energy materials such as thermoelectrics, photovoltaics, and batteries.

Applications must include

1) a detailed description of the applicant’s background in thermal science and/or energy transport or machine learning / high throughput simulations;

2) a resume/CV with full publication list and contact information for references.

High priority will be given to those with strong background in atomistic/multi-scale simulation of thermal transport in solids and/or energy transport in advanced materials. Students with PhD degree in mechanical engineering or materials science or condensed matter physics are strongly encouraged to apply.

Start date: Fall 2018 or upon negotiate
